Mon. 12/3, 7:30pm: Astro Images by Ron Anstey-VT Astronomical Society. Have you ever wanted to take images of your favorite astronomical objects? Ron Anstey explains the basics for producing astro images. He will explain the basics of digital astro imaging from a simple camera tripod combination to advanced imaging using a equatorial telescope with drives to follow the stars. Ron will display fantastic and colorful images of star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies. Open to all ages interested in astronomy. 878-6955.

Not for Little Kids [ie. What Really Happened to Sleeping Beauty!] by Storyteller Linda Costello; she’ll tell stories for the time of year when a good, scary, fairy tale or ghost story can hearken back to your childhood during the dark season. Ages High School and Up.
Fri. 12/7, 3pm: Love and War: The 1941-1943 World War II letters of Nancy Duncan-A one-hour presentation by Curt Taylor of his mother’s unpublished letters. Less than two weeks after Pearl Harbor, Nancy Duncan found herself aboard a troop ship heading for Iceland- one of 10 Red Cross workers on board. Howard Taylor, a young lieutenant, was one of 2500 soldiers aboard the same ship. Their story of meeting, love, and life they lived in wartime Iceland and Great Britain is the subject of nearly 200 surprisingly frank letters, v-mails and postcards received and saved. Her son will relate letters’s story and answer questions. Transcribed letters available one week before the talk and for a month after. Must be read at the library and not copied. Mr. Taylor will also make available several books relating to Iceland, the Red Cross, and the 50th Signal Battalion during World War II. Free and Open to the public. Fall Story Times! Story Times are offered on a weekly basis – regular attendance is encouraged. Space is limited in each group, to avoid overcrowding.
