The Recruiting for Peace Campaign aims to increase awareness about truth in recruiting and student rights. A primary focus of the campaign is to educate high school students about their rights, including the ability to opt-out of receiving letters and phone calls from the military. Through the No Child Left Behind education law, Armed Services recruiters automatically have access to the personal contact information of high school students unless their parents opt-out. The movie screening will be followed by an open community discussion about the role of youth in militarism and the potential for creating peace. The Peace and Justice Center will table at the screening. Recruiting for Peace literature and opt out forms will be available for parents and students.
